«POZHNAUKA» Publishing House was created in 1992. It highlights the results of scientific research in the field of fire prevention and fire protection, which are of scientific and practical importance.

From 2004 to 2011, the «Fire Safety in Construction» scientific and practical journal was published in tandem, which allowed expanding the scope of publications and covering fire safety issues in the design and construction of buildings and structures.

In 2012, it was decided to combine these two journals under the title of «Pozharovzryvobezopasnost/Fire and Explosion Safety». Now this is a certain full-color scientific and technical journal recommended by the Higher Attestation Commission of the Russian Federation for the publication of the works of applicants for scientific degrees of candidates and doctors of sciences.

Since 2020, the journal has been published by the National Research Moscow State University of Civil Engineering (NRU MGSU).
