Проведена оценка общего числа пожаров на земле, которая составляет 10-12 млн. в год, и числа погибших на пожарах людей - 100-120 тыс. чел. в год. Представлена динамика изменения числа пожаров и погибших при пожарах людей с 2009 по 2013 гг. в 40 странах мира. Приведены данные Всемирной организации здравоохранения (ВОЗ) о смертности в мире и основных ее причинах. Проведено сравнение статистических данных о гибели людей от огня, тепла и горячих субстанций по материалам ВОЗ и от пожаров по данным противопожарных служб в 35 странах мира в 2012 г. Показано, что вся совокупность данных для 35 стран различается на 33 %. Представлены данные о "стоимости" пожаров в различных странах мира, которая составляет примерно 1 % от валового национального продукта страны, при этом затраты на борьбу с пожарами в 3-5 раз превосходят потери от пожаров.</p></abstract><trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>The information about the situation with the fires and their effects on the Earth at the beginning of the XXI century has been presented in the article. There was estimated the total number of fires on the Earth in 10-12 mln. a year and the number of fire deaths in the 100-120 thous. inh. a year. The trends of the number of fires and fire deaths from 2009 to 2013 in 40 countries of the world have been shown. The data on mortality in the world and its main causes according to the data of the World Health Organization (WHO) is given. The authors have estimated the number of "deaths from the fire, heat and hot substances" by data of WHO and the number of "fire deaths" by data of fire services in 35 countries. All the data for the 35 countries as a result varies by 33 %.
